VTP U8 Update

“It is not easy being green” ❤️⚽️🏆

Dear Players and Families,

One of the main reasons why we do what we do is because we work through challenges together to see all the children mold into a group of teammates who enjoy being active and socialize. Yesterday was a perfect example of parents, kids, and coaches braving the rainfall to deliver this exciting program.

We have an incredibly healthy group of 5-7 year olds (U8 level) and it will be a lot of fun. But we have some logistics to take care of.  Our aim is that 90% of exercises involve the kids and soccer balls. We will give out best to keep it fun and exciting at our little “Patch of Passion” in Winooski. Be patient with us and the kids – we will absolutely get there.
Here are a few things to take note of:

(You will get a separate email with the game schedule)

  1. Please keep personal soccer balls at home. We have made a decision to utilize our VTP soccer balls at the practices so that the kids are not seeking or crying for their personal balls. The personal balls can be used to practice at home, or at any park closest to home. We have left the goals up at Landry park, so please free and come on down to play on the field.
  2. Remain present during practices, even if the kids currently does not participate. Kids are easily intimidated by the crowed size, the loud voices, etc., but soon enough they will realize that it’s fun. We do not mind if kids cry, we fully understand and is part of the process. Patience will yield by far the best results. 90% of all the VTP kids have started shy/crying and end up absolutely in love. Patriots soccer becomes their favorite thing to do.
  3. Nutrition is important to raise some healthy soccer rockers! It is certainly much easier said than done. Here is a good article with various tips and tricks ensuring some good protein in athlete’s diet. https://www.healthychildren.org/english/ages-stages/preschool/nutrition-fitness/pages/feeding-and-nutrition-your-4-to-5-year-old.aspx
  4. Water. Water is the absolutely preferred form of hydration for soccer players. The sugar content in other drinks is outrageous. Other healthy drink would be milk.
  5. I am looking for a good date to do portrait and action photos. This is one amazing part of our program and an incredible memory. Photos are free for families to obtain and we want all kids to have this photo. Stay tuned.

See you soon,
VTP Team
