Dear Parents and Players,
The VTP hosted our friends from Saint Albans for some U8 girls and boys, and U10 boys’ games. We tried to arrange a U12 but they did not have a team. What an amazing day it was for our wonderful futbolers. The sense of community was palpable, the passion was soaring, and our young soccer players fought like lions. We are proud of these kids, particularly considering all the emotional challenges that are experienced by these young individuals (for many it was their very first game), including the size of the opposing team. 😉 Here are a few things to consider:
- The half-human/half-amazing U8 girls played an older team, thus don’t fret the score, or the intimidation the girls experienced. They were supposed to have more of 6-7 year old girls, but the long weekend ruined the logistics, thus we ended up with younger U8s, and they ended up with older U10s, hence the difference. Nevertheless, we score MULTIPLE goals!
- Our U8 is fascinating on so many levels. The other team was completely blown away by the numbers of our soccer-rocking U8s (boys and girls). And this is the strength of our program, we keep growing
- U8 Boys looked like a green army of soccer players. Absolutely amazing sight and what a fun group to be around. Even more amazing is that the coaches and parents kept the “fully loaded energy-bolts” in a pretty decent check. Sometimes through loving reminders, sometimes to tough-loving reminders, it certainly takes an entire village and all support and collective guidance of all of our kids is appreciated. This aspect of the VTP encourages our sense of community within our group. At VTP we are proud and amazed.
- Our U10s performed well yesterday. Exception growth in comparison to last year. They are understanding more and executing instructions more precisely. Skill is improving, and we cannot wait to see them on the field next Sunday for our first game of the official season.
- Our U12s is a combo of old and new players to the VTP program, and they are already molding into a good team. There is plenty of talent and we are excited to follow these talented young men as they progress in skill and camaraderie. We will be there to guide them.
We have posted many photos and videos to our facebook page www.facebook.com/vermontpatriots LIKE our page. We post photos and videos there.
Hope all are enjoying their long weekend.
Sincerely,
VTP TEAM
