our mission
We see our club as an ecosystem, a framework, a stage to integrate, educate, guide, foster, and grow young participants into well-adjusted, resilient, and productive community members. Keeping children off the streets and engaged in life skills through sports.
One heart, one mind
united communities score goals
Vermont Patriots is a local non-profit with the home field at Landry Park in Winooski, VT. We strive to provide accessible, integrative, and educational team sport participation opportunities to young members of our community inclusive of all cultural backgrounds, financial situations, or life circumstances. This opportunity will provide the stage and framework for education and development. For the young soccer players Futbol is more of an art than science and that is where we capture their imagination. We will grow young participant’s athletic abilities and individual characteristics, seeking to better oneself as individuals, and as a collective whole.
Off the streets, and onto the fields
Sense of purpose
We always see our club as more than soccer or sports. It is an ecosystem, a framework, a stage to integrate and educate, guide and foster, and grow all participants into well-adjusted, resilient, and productive community members. We seek to achieve this through integrative programs and community partnerships. Our training session are focusing on play with three overarching educational points: healthy lifestyle, environmental and energy conservation, and financial literacy, all at age appropriate levels. Soccer is more than a game, and it offers unique opportunities with its potentials to positively influence young members.
Breaking pay to play
shoulder to shoulder
It is time to break the “pay to play” barrier that keeps many young players from participating in quality and professional environments. The pay to play system is arguably the cause for this Great Nation’s difficult challenge to field a World Cup worthy US men’s national team. We will do our part to balance and level the access to all young community members. We strongly believe that one’s participation be based on work ethic, positive attitude, focus and commitment, rather than what the parents are able to provide. In other words, parents pay their dues (each and every day), and we will allow and expect the kids to deliver their best “work”, within their age appropriate level.
Mindful community
fair play and common goals
Importantly, our purpose seeks not to compete with other local clubs, agencies, or school systems, but rather as the “feeder club” to many of local organizations that seek similar goals while guiding youngsters to bigger and better things in life. Of course, when we are on the field, then it is GO PATRIOTS, GO! Either way, we will be delighted when our kids move on, preserver and succeed in their primary goals. This mindset is not to diminish our competitive drive, but to develop character with integrity, respect, confidence, compassion, ambition, and perseverance inside of our young participants to become better versions of themselves. Our programs aim to enable youngsters to play well, and make even better choices in life.
