Dear Families and Players,
It is an incredible feeling watching all our players run onto the field and compete as a team. Emotions are flying high, matched and unmatched expectations, desire, passion, (one) victory, one almost victory and very challenging opponents. We had it all. Soccer and its lessons are a way of life, a lifestyle. I personally believe that VTP has an incredible community feel with a positive aura. Our wonderful diversity is our foundational strength, and it is exciting to think that we are just at the beginning of the journey.

The weekend went mostly as expected in terms of organization and gameplay. We have laid a great foundation across all the teams, and exposed aspects that we need to work on. Kids are having fun and the passion was palpable, despite the challenges. There were some well-organized, older opponents that delivered great lessons to our team. We will get there, but it certainly does not happen in couple of weeks. Staying motivated is key. GO VTP! (I think that rhymed).

In the VTP World there are no defeats or scores, just experiences. As these young futbolers develop as players and people, “process” must be a key concept, like “it’s a journey, not a destination”. Each of these experiences offer parents and coaches, as well as our kids, an opportunity to learn. During this process, our task is to teach and empower each kid to not question themselves, but rather their approach and adjust it accordingly (with guidance). The support from all sides is important and finding a gentle yet real word of encouragement is paramount. Fun, passion, attitude, work ethics, discipline, fun, respect, supportive nature, fun, and fun are main things we aim for. If we miss the mark, it will not be for lack of trying.

So much for now. VTP FAMILY! VTP FAMILY! VTP FAMILY!
Your feedback is always appreciated and never hesitate to share your opinion with us.
Sincerely,
VTP TEAM
